Triphala Tablets For an Overall Body Health

Triphala is one of the most useful and versatile Ayurvedic formulas in use today. Available in tablet and powdered form, Triphala has been found to have extensive uses and benefits to treat and prevent a large number of small and large medical problems. It has extremely powerful ingredients that are filled with extensive minerals, vitamins, etc.

Here, we will help you to understand the ingredients of Triphala Tablets and the different ways that the tablets can be effectively used.

Triphala Ingredients

Triphala is prepared from an equal combination of the three myrobalans, namely Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Bhibitaki (Terminalia belerica) and Amalaki (Emblica officinalis). Each Triphala Tablet consists of:

  • Amlaki (Emblica officinalis) — 500 mg
  • Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) — 500 mg
  • Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica) — 500 mg

Uses and Benefits of Triphala

Triphala is not only useful as oral medicine, but it has several helpful topical properties as well. Surprisingly, Triphala can be used for various different purposes in its different forms.

Let’s check out some of the most useful ways and effective benefits of Triphala tablets:

1 – Treatment for dry and damaged hair

Triphala is surprisingly a highly beneficial remedy to treat dry, damaged hair. Triphala can be used as a hair treatment solution.

Simply take 4 tablespoons of Triphala powder and boil it with 1 cup of water. For frizzy, dry hair, add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil with the powder. The concoction needs to boil for 10 minutes before being allowed to cool down once again. Simply lean over a sink and gently massage the Triphala oil into the scalp and over your hair. Wait for 30 minutes before you rinse it off. You’ll notice a significant thickness and brightness in your hair with regular use.

2 – As an eyewash

You can make an effective and all-natural eyewash using Triphala. Simply prepare Triphala tea by boiling ½ teaspoon of Triphala powder in 1 cup of water for 2 minutes. Strain the tea several times till there are no tiny particles left in it. It is important to strain out only the liquid as small particles will otherwise irritate the eyes. Once strained cleanly, let the concoction cool down.

To use, pour the Triphala eyewash into an eye-washing cup or a dropper. Pour 2 – 4 drops of the Triphala eyewash carefully into your eyes and blink several times to make sure that the eyewash is distributed equally inside the eye. You can use the Triphala eyewash regularly without any harm after consulting with your personal doctor.

3 – Homemade skin cleanser

Triphala is also excellent as a skin cleaner and can be used in two different ways. To exfoliate your skin, you need to mix Triphala powder with coconut oil until you get a paste. Gently scrub your skin for 10 minutes before washing it off to get clean and rejuvenated skin. You can use this remedy to remove discoloured and dry patches of skin easily.

For the more sensitive areas of the body, you can use Triphala tea as a skin cleanser. Make Triphala tea and strain it using a fine cloth. Let the tea cool down before using it to carefully wash your skin. Triphala tea is extremely useful for remedying excessively oily skin.

4 – To brush teeth

Although Triphala powder is noticeably bitter and sour to taste, if you get over the taste it will give you extremely white teeth and a clean tongue. The astringent properties in Triphala remove toxins, plaque and stains from the teeth and also keep the tongue clean and fresh.

All you have to do is mix a small amount of Triphala powder with enough water to make a paste out of it. Use your normal toothbrush to scrub the teeth and tongue as well as massage your gums with the paste. Once done, rinse your mouth with warm water to get a fresh and clean mouth.

5 – For cleaning your scalp

Triphala can be effectively used as a topical treatment to scrub and remove the toxins from your scalp. Simply mix 1 tablespoon of Triphala powder with 1 tablespoon Neem powder. Add enough water to make a thick paste. Use your fingertips to massage the paste gently into your scalp and move your hand in a circular motion to exfoliate the scalp skin effectively. For those suffering from a flaky scalp, adding a few drops of tea tree oil helps immensely.

Conclusively, Triphala tablet is useful for a wide range of health conditions for centuries. While it is known to be a significant source of antioxidants, it has not been tested extensively on people for every health condition it is used for. Only use Triphala from a trusted manufacturer, and talk to your doctor prior to using.
