5 Ways To Keep Your Baby Healthy

Now more than ever, it is essential to keep your baby healthy because of various illnesses and viruses like COVID-19. As a parent, you want the best for your child.

And doing this will help everyone in the household be happy because when a child is sick, everyone could get affected.

For instance, you may have to miss your work or daily chores to care for a sick baby. That’s why you may want to do the following:

  1. Choose Organic Baby Formula

One of the best things you can do is let your baby consume organic milk formula.

It’s vital because it can provide for your child’s nutritional needs, such as minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. These are essential to ensure that their growth is nurtured as early as possible.

Organic milk doesn’t contain artificial ingredients or synthetic nutrients and isn’t produced using conventional fertilizers or pesticides.

It’s also essential that it doesn’t generate radiation when it’s being made or created, nor should it be genetically modified. It means that the milk where it was produced follows strict standards wherein manufacturers only use natural.

Organic baby formula can help your child’s cognitive performance and development. Most organic milk has omega-3 that may be insufficient in conventionally produced milk.

Since the formula is organic, your child is free from harmful ingredients or artificial chemicals that may not be good for their body.

Moreover, milk that’s taken care of in organic farms are less likely to have traces of antibiotics. Avoiding such will ensure that your baby would not have higher chances of having antibiotic resistance,

  1. Make Them Have Sleep Enough

Your child should have at least eight to ten hours of sleep if they’re a teen, while nine to twelve hours is needed for ages five to twelve. It’s essential because they need to recharge their bodies and brains.

When they have enough sleep, they can have healthier weights and better concentration and attention. Enough sleep also increases their ability to manage their emotions and stress and have healthier eating habits.

You can make them develop healthier sleeping habits by sleeping and waking up at a specific time of the day.

You should also limit their screen time usage and read them a book after a warm bath. Most importantly, it may be best to let them use their bedroom solely to sleep and not do their homework.

  1. Practice A Healthy Diet

Even a baby can develop its natural preferences for foods. They may prefer sweets and snacks instead of healthier foods, so it’s best to make them enjoy a nutritious meal. It means you may need to make an effort to make the foods appealing.

You can sprinkle apple slices with a sweet dip or add veggies into a beef stew. Doing this will disguise the taste of healthier foods they may avoid.

Another habit that can help both you and your baby is to eat more home-cooked meals. Instead of ordering or taking out food at restaurants, invest in cooking healthy foods for the whole family.

It will prevent unhealthy fat and more sugar consumption since restaurant foods are more likely to have such ingredients.

You may also use shopping for groceries to entice your kids to eat healthy meals. Ask them to buy foods they want to eat, but limit it to healthy ones.

Or create healthy snacks that can boost their growth at home to ensure that you’re using organic ingredients.

Give these to them instead of cookies, chips, or soda. When such snacks exist at your home, they can avoid looking for snacks prepared commercially.

  1. Avoid Smoking

Smoking is always a big problem for your health, and it’s even worse for your child. If you can’t avoid it, make sure you do it away from home because the smoke can linger.

Your child may smell it, and when regularly done, it could harm your child’s health.

Smoking can also increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome for babies. Or they can develop pneumonia, bronchitis, and other various breathing problems.

  1. Keep Them Active

It’s also vital to keep your children physically active. You don’t have to make them do push-ups or sit-ups, but playing around is better than letting them ogle on gadgets all day. For babies, let them move or roll, depending on how old they are.

Doing this can help them learn to move or walk quicker. Older kids also need to be physically active because it can help them build their joints, muscles, and bones.

Most importantly, they can reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes when they get older.
