How To Make Your Lips Smaller

Here are some of the effective ways on how to make your lips smaller;

  1. Moisturize
  2. Avoid Lip Gloss
  3. Face Exercises
  4. Smiling
  5. Use a Concealer
  6. Use Dark Lipstick
  7. Treat Lips Injuries
  8. Hair Removal
  9. Cleaning Lips
  10. Surgery

1. Moisturize

When the body is dehydrated, it holds onto water, and that can cause areas of the body to retain the water in a visible way. This can make the lips look larger. So drink plenty of water. Use a lip balm, preferably oil-based, to lock in moisture and keep your lips in healthy condition. This will prevent the skin of the lips from being irritated and swollen. 2. Avoid Lip Gloss

Lip gloss makes lips appear fuller and larger, so this can be a problem when lips are already full. Instead, use a lipstick that is a similar color to your skin tone. The lipstick does not plump the lips, and using a color that is similar to your skin tone can make lips less noticeable.

3. Face Exercises

An exercise routine for your lips and face will get rid of excess fat on the face and lips, which will ultimately make your lips a little smaller.

4. Smiling

Smiling, as simple as it, can give the illusion of thinner lips because when you smile, your lips are spread or pull and it makes it smaller. This is temporary though.

5. Use a Concealer

Apply a concealer to your lip line. You will need an applicator for this. You can either apply the colors or concealer around the lip-line.If the resulting line is uneven, smooth it out by dragging the tip of the applicator sponge across the line of concealer parallel to the edge of your lips.

6. Use Dark Lipsticks.

This can work if there is one lip that needs more attention over another. For instance, if only the upper lip needs to look thinner–use a darker color on the upper lip while you use something slightly brighter to draw attention to the lower lip (or vice-versa).

7. Treat Lips Injuries

If ever you have bigger lips because of a lip injury or allergy, then you’ll need to know how to treat them right. You’ll need to take medicine for allergies (as prescribed by the doctor) or to make sure you avoid it from swelling up through good habits, such as not biting your lips or putting natural ingredients like vaseline to help your lips heal.

If you suffer from cuts or swollen lips, then make sure you clean your lips with soap and water. Apply pressure with a clean cloth if your lips are bleeding as well. If you have bruises or swollen lips, then use an ice compress. Hydrogen peroxide will help heal small wounds.

8. Hair Removal

Your lips might have hair on top or under it, which makes you look like you have larger and plumper lips. To make it look smaller, or to show its natural size, it’s time to remove hair around your lips through plucking, shaving, laser, or waxing it. We do not recommend shaving, though, as this may make hair grow even faster after.

9. Cleaning Lips

To lessen the larger size of your lips naturally, you will need to clean it once a week. When your lips aren’t clean, they look darker than they are from dirt and dead cells. This makes them look a bit bigger than they should, and it’s unhygienic as well. Clean it by using a lip scrub and washing it daily.

10. Surgery

The last resort would be getting cosmetic surgery or using injections to reduce lip tissue. But this is discouraged upon unless you’re very desperate to make your lips smaller quickly and efficiently. Take note that this is costly and has side effects, with you needing to make follow-up checkups after.

If you do decide to pursue surgery, then make sure you research for the best and other things you will need to prepare for beforehand. This will help reduce any pain and ensure that you have a safe procedure.
